Other than it being a little bit cool and a little bit windy! The Nutty Runners 5K went awesomely this this year. Thank You to all you nutty runners who braved the cold to come participate. Thank you to just a handful of volunteers who helped to make things run smoothly. Thanks also to all of our generous sponsors – who’s logo’s and links are posted to the right!!

COSTUME CONTEST – NEW FOR THIS YEAR! Each year thus far we have had a “Mr. Peanut” or two participate in our race. Last year we had a runner come and run in a business suit complete with a briefcase  We believe such nuttiness deserves its own reward. 15 minutes PRIOR to the start of the race we will judge who has the nuttiest race costumes. Awards will be waiting for the winners at the finish line!

CENTIPEDE RACE – ALSO NEW FOR THIS YEAR! A Centipede race is a race for a team of runners. These runners must be physically attached to each other. They run the race amidst the “normal” nutty runners in a single file line. Rules and more details will be posted soon!

NUTTY RUNNERS PASTA FEED! Pre-race registration and T-shirt / Goodie Bag Pick up will be available on Friday March 8 at Vince’s Pasta and Pizza on Ave L & 30th St West – 4 to 8 pm. WAVE will get a portion of the proceeds for any Nutty Runner Purchases that evening!

We are getting our sponsors and raffle prizes lined up. Valley Physical Therapy, Opthamologist Dr. Wright-Scott, Chiropractor Dr. Smith of AVORS, Hi Tech Auto, Carpeteria, George’s Cleaners, and the High Desert Runners have already signed up as sponsors. I am sure we will have some awesome prizes!
